August 2026 Monthly Meeting

PCC Events provide a valuable opportunity for business mailers to gain a better understanding of Postal Service policies, programs, and procedures that have been specifically designed to improve their mailing and shipping needs.

During this GPPCC August 2026 Monthly Forum, the enrichment topic featured is:

Jon Bowman, Director of Business Development for the Direct Marketing division of Salem One, will have a presentation on Digital retargeting – taking online data and converting to direct mail

Jon Bowman graduated from University of North Carolina at Charlotte in with a degree in business and a minor in economics. He also holds an MBA from Wake Forest University. He joined PostMark, Inc. following graduation from Charlotte, a small direct marketing firm in Winston-Salem, NC. Jon helped grow PostMark, Inc. into a regionally recognized direct marketing organization. He became President and majority owner of the company. In February 2019 Salem One acquired PostMark. Jon is now the Director of Business Development for the Direct Marketing division of Salem One. Salem One is a national organization with three production facilities in NC – Winston-Salem, Kernersville, and Charlotte. Salem One works with brands such as Academy Sports, Floor & Decor, Lumos, and Truist.

Through his professional work, Jon has had an opportunity to guest lecture at UNC Charlotte, Appalachian State University, Elon University, Forsyth Technical Commuinty College, and UNC Chapel Hill. Additionally, he has presented at the National Postal Forum multiple times and several other regional Postal Customer Council meetings.

Jon and his wife Beth (also a Charlotte graduate),have two sons, Andrew who is a senior in Computer Engineering at Charlotte, and Peyton a Sophomore in high school, both whom have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts of America. Jon enjoys volunteering with Boy Scouts, Blue Ridge Trout Unlimited, and A Bed and A Book. Additionally, in his free time he likes to fly fish, tie flies, hike, and camp.

PHILADELPHIA — As the United States marks the 250th anniversary of its birth, the U.S. Postal Service pays tribute to the document that put America’s founding ideals in writing with the release of the Declaration of Independence Forever stamp. A dedication ceremony for the stamp was held today at the B. Free Franklin Post Office, part of Independence Historical National Park, in Philadelphia.

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Postal Service will observe Independence Day on Saturday, July 4. All Post Office locations will be closed. Regular mail delivery and retail services will resume on Monday, July 6. Post Offices will be open, and deliveries will occur as normal on Friday, July 3.

EDGARTOWN, MA — Today, the U.S. Postal Service released Summer Sunset, a new nondenominated, nonprofit-rate stamp intended for bulk mailings by authorized nonprofit organizations. The stamp was issued in Edgartown, MA, without a ceremony.

Catalogs offer a unique marketing perspective to products and services and provide important value to the mailbox. As part of the July 14, 2024 price change, USPS published a new Catalog definition in the Domestic Mail Manual. Simultaneously, the Postal Service is offering a Catalog Incentive price discount of $0.001 per mailpiece to Catalog mailers who comply with the new Catalog definition and meet all other eligibility requirements for the Catalog Incentive.
